There’s no such thing as good writing,
only good re-writing.

If you’ve been writing for a while, you will know that is true. We very rarely craft perfect text on our first attempt.

Writing is a really thinking in concrete words. The process of refining and editing is part of the thinking process, helping ideas become clearer and more precise.

If you can, often it’s good to write a first draft and then leave your text for a day or two.

This allows your sub-conscious to bubble away and enriches your thinking. I’ve got no idea how the subconscious works, I just know it does.

Allowing yourself a bit of soak time helps. Then get into reviewing and editing.

And you may need to repeat that process a few times.
